Yay! Affordable housing!

Still can't afford a house in Lake Oswego or Portland?
Read on.

Metro's claim, and all Urbanists' claims, that young people want to live in apartments in urban environments and eschew the burdens of single family homes, is false.  People will go to great lengths (literally) to buy a house of their own.  The American Dream is not dead, but it is being devoured by Smart Growth/New Urbanism.

The livability issues brought about by Smart Growth adherents can fill a book.  For every upside, there is a downside.  Bureaucrats either ignore or misrepresent the downsides of their agenda - like the preference for single family houses.  In the meantime, a generation will become city rats, envious of those who fare better, when all the time it was their government who *7%$#@** them out of owning a home.
