Multnomah County is tops for Millennials

For anyone who has children in this age group, especially if they are still single, you probably already understand the allure of living in Portland or one of the other cities in the country where young adults congregate.  It takes a critical mass of single people in one place to have an opportunity of meeting that someone special after you leave college.  Inner-city Portland is one of those places.

Multnomah County named one of nation's top markets for renting to millennials

Portland's Multnomah County has seen a 41 percent increase in the millennial population from 2007 to 2013.
Portland's Multnomah County is one of the country's top markets for renting to millennials, according to figures released today by real estate research firm RealtyTrac.
The area has seen a 41 percent change in the millennial population from 2007 to 2013.
RealtyTrac defines millennials as those born between 1977 and 1992.
Other popular areas for millennials include Orleans Parish, La., in the New Orleans metro area (71.2 percent increase), Denver County, Colo., (57.5 percent increase), Montgomery County, Tenn., in the Clarksville metro area (46.3 percent increase) and Hudson County, N.J. in the New York City metro area (44.3 percent increase). All of these markets also had annual gross rental yields of 6 percent or higher.
